A Strong Win Against the Gunners

Good game everyone! A 6:2 victory, and a pretty comfortable one too. I thought we passed well and were pretty good getting the puck at the boards. We managed to control things, and really didn't have any specific things we did wrong all the time. They had a few 3-on-1 rushes, but hey, it happens!

And hat's off to "the new guys". Welcome to the team. You guys def. are a great addition. Congrats to Riley on his hattrick!

As we discussed, the Gunners played their positions pretty well (as always), but they huddled in front of their own goal, leaving our points wide open on several occasions. I think we could do a better job at passing to the points. We (myself included more than anyone else I guess) always focus so much on getting to the goal, we forget we have a whole offensive zone to play with, when we are on the attack. I think we could get our opponents running in circles if we passed to the points on occasion. Anyway: Just a thought.

We are still in last place though. 4 points out of 8 games is not a real good record. However, we have been playing well lately. We won 2 of the last 4 games, and we could have probably won all 4 with a bit of luck. So let's keep doing what we are doing and push hard!

Next week, we are playing the North Stars. They are currently second, 2 points behind Thunders. This will be a tough game and probably a harder challenge than yesterday's game. However, if we keep playing like we have, we can probably beat any game in this league. After all, that is also the position we were in last season, and just because the first few games of the season weren't so good, doesn't mean we aren't the team to beat in this league. It may not look like that based on the standings, but let them underestimate us! ;-)
